The Lakers showcased incredible offensive efficiency and balanced scoring throughout the contest, improving to 1-0 on the season. From the opening tip, it was clear this would be a statement game as the Lakers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back.

The Lakers started strong with Taj Singh leading an impressive 12-0 run to begin the game. Taj was unstoppable early on, scoring eight consecutive points as part of a personal 10-point first-half outburst that set the tone for the entire contest. The team's offensive rhythm was contagious, with William Ryan contributing early buckets as the Lakers built a commanding 21-0 lead before Furious 5 could manage their first score. By halftime, the Lakers had stretched their advantage to 41-5, with Taj leading all scorers with 14 points in the opening period.

The second half saw continued balanced scoring from the Lakers' deep roster. Taj Singh finished as the game's leading scorer with 19 points on an efficient 9-15 shooting performance, including a three-pointer. Saturday SCS Lakers U12s: A Masterclass in Grading

The Saturday SCS Lakers U12s had a fantastic start to the Winter 2026 grading season this past weekend, beating the Killa Beez 38-12. The Lakers were in complete control of the game from the first tip to the last buzzer, starting their season with a 1-0 record. The crowd was electric at the home opener, and the team responded by following a strong game plan that led to a convincing 26-point win on their home court.

Kenji Rico made a smooth three-pointer for the Lakers' first basket, which set the tone for the rest of the game. Jai Singh quickly followed with a three-pointer of his own, and the two of them, Singh and Rico, were too much for the other team to handle. The Lakers were ahead by a comfortable 16-9 at halftime, thanks to Singh, who led the way and set the pace for a fast-paced offensive performance.

The second half showed how deep the Lakers are and how well they can score. Kenji Rico got hot early in the period, scoring eight straight points to take control of the game and make the score 26-9. Rico scored an impressive 15 points, thanks to his efficient shooting and constant threat from the outside. The lead quickly grew too big to overcome when Jai Singh took over late in the game and scored six straight points to end a remarkable individual performance. Jai was completely unstoppable the whole time. He scored 19 points, which made it impossible for the Killa Beez to come back.

The scoring leaders got a lot of attention, but the whole team played well to help them win. Hunter Carroll came off the bench and played well, scoring four points on perfect shooting to keep the Lakers' momentum going. This first win was a great example of the club's strong team chemistry and balanced attack, which are two things that have become its trademark. This young Saturday team has shown that they have a very exciting season of basketball ahead of them by winning a statement game.

Friday SCS Lakers U14s: A Mission Reclaimed

The Friday SCS Lakers U14s started the Winter 2026 season with a clear objective and a reason to prove themselves. The Lakers came back to the court this past weekend with a new roster and championship goals after losing a close, heartbreaking game to the Phoenix Flames Firestorm in last summer's Finals. The team said goodbye to Lans as he moved up to the U16s, but they welcomed back Taj Singh, who was a key part of their championship run last winter, to strengthen their core. This mix of experience and drive led to a wonderful first game for the Lakers, who beat the Caversham Panthers Gold 56-13 at home to start the season 1-0.

The Lakers took charge of the game right away, going up 22-1 at halftime. Chris Wourman set the tone early by making the first basket of the game. This led to an offensive surge that the Panthers just couldn't stop. During this first half, the Lakers showed off their balanced offense and smooth ball movement. Muse Liban was especially helpful in building the double-digit lead, scoring 7 points. The defense was just as tough, holding the other team to one point in the first period and giving the Lakers the confidence they needed to go into the break.

Taj Singh owned the second half, scoring a lot of points to show that he was back in form. Singh had a pretty quiet first half, but in the second half he scored 21 points, including an impressive 11-point scoring streak. He showed off his elite versatility by scoring 23 points on 73% shooting, which was the most in the game. He did this by hitting both aggressive inside shots and a smooth three-pointer. Chris Wourman was the perfect partner for him, scoring 14 points on an incredible 86% shooting performance. He also made timely shots from beyond the arc that kept the Lakers' momentum going strong.

This strong start to the season showed how deep and selfless the team is. In addition to the main scorers, Muse Liban (9 points), Blake Prunster (4 points), and Sean Malveda (4 points) all made important contributions for the Lakers, making sure that everyone on the floor got quality shots. The Friday U14s showed they are ready to go after another title by scoring a lot of points and playing great defense that kept the Panthers to just 13 points. The Lakers have set a high bar for the exciting winter season ahead now that Taj is back and the pain of the summer finals is behind them.

Friday SCS Lakers U12s: A Statement Opening

The Friday SCS Lakers U12s' Winter 2026 season began this past weekend. The Lakers started their season with a 1-0 record after a high-energy home opener that lived up to the hype. They beat the SCS Falcons 46-25. The game started out as a tense back-and-forth fight, but the Falcons were able to tie the score at 6-6 early on. But that was as close as they would get because the Lakers quickly changed gears, found their rhythm, and went on an impressive scoring run that left the other team looking for answers. The Falcons were in the middle of a transition when they played the Lakers. They had lost important veteran players Jet and Elijah, and the Lakers took advantage of their established chemistry to build a 23-10 halftime lead.

The Lakers were able to win because everyone on the team scored and played for the team. Kenji Rico got things going early by making 6 of his 13 field goals for 13 points and being calm at the charity stripe, where he made all 2 of his attempts. Syd Malveda was a constant force in the paint, scoring 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting and fighting through constant fouls to make 4-of-7 free throws. The momentum grew even more in the second half, thanks to Jai Singh, who scored 13 points, including a clutch three-pointer that broke the defense's spirit and made the score 29-10. Singh's calmness was one of the best parts of the half, especially when he made both of his free throws.

The top scorers led the way, but the win really showed how deep the whole team was. Ethan Espiritu and Luke Jurey each scored two points, made important plays, and stopped the other team's offense whenever they needed to. The "Lakers Way" was on full display: their defense was so strong that the Falcons could only score 25 points, and their ball movement was so good that they always got high-percentage shots. The Friday U12s set a high standard for the rest of the season by the end of the game. The Lakers have made it clear to the league that they are disciplined, deep, and ready for the winter ahead. Three players scored in double figures, and every member of the team helped them win.
