The Saturday SCS Lakers U12s battled hard at home against the PF Suns but fell short in a competitive 36-26 contest, moving their record to 2-7. Despite the loss, the Lakers showed tremendous heart and fighting spirit throughout the game, with several players stepping up to make important contributions on the scoreboard.
The game began with a back-and-forth exchange, as Ethan Espiritu quickly scored a smooth two-pointer to equalize the score at 2-2. After the PF Suns built an early 8-point lead, the Lakers refused to back down. Connor Hendry and Luke each made crucial baskets to maintain their team's competitiveness, while the dynamic duo of Jai Singh and Ethan Espiritu started to gain momentum. The Lakers put together an impressive run late in the first half, with Singh scoring three consecutive field goals and Espiritu adding another basket. Adi Ganesh also chipped in with a key score, and Jai capped off a fantastic first half with a game-tying basket to knot the score 18-18.
Leading the way for the Lakers was Jai Singh, who delivered an outstanding performance with 12 points on efficient 6-14 shooting from the field. Singh was particularly clutch in the first half, scoring 8 points to keep his team competitive. Ethan Espiritu provided excellent support with 6 points on an impressive 3-5 shooting display, while Adi Ganesh contributed 4 points on a stellar 2-3 from the field. Connor Hendry and Luke each added 2 points, with Luke shooting a perfect 1-1 from the floor. The Lakers showed outstanding teamwork and determination, and with continued effort like this, brighter days are certainly ahead for this talented young squad.
