The Friday SCS Lakers U12s delivered an outstanding performance, dominating the SCS Shooters 52-22 to even their record at 6-6-1. This impressive 30-point victory showcased the team's balanced scoring attack and strong team chemistry, with multiple players stepping up to contribute throughout the game.

 

The Lakers established control early, jumping out to a quick 4-0 lead behind baskets from Ethan Espiritu and Syd Malveda. While the SCS Shooters responded with a brief 6-point scoring streak in the first half to close within two points at 10-8, the Lakers answered right back. Josh Evans took over in the first half, scoring 10 of his game-high 14 points to help build a comfortable 22-12 halftime advantage. Evans was efficient from the field, connecting on 7 of 12 shots throughout the game.

 

The second half belonged entirely to the Lakers as they pulled away with dominant team play. Kayson C and Syd Malveda both stepped up their scoring, with Kayson finishing with 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including a clutch three-pointer, while Malveda also contributed 13 points and knocked down a momentum-building three-pointer late in the game. Jai Singh added 8 points with solid court vision, and Ethan Espiritu chipped in 4 points while making key contributions on both ends of the floor.

 

This was a complete team effort that showed the Lakers' potential when everyone contributes. The balanced scoring attack, with three players reaching double figures, and the team's ability to maintain their lead while continuing to push the pace made this a memorable victory for players, coaches, and families alike.
