The Lakers took control early in the first half, with Muse #31 initiating the scoring at the free throw line. After the Hornets briefly took a 2-1 lead, the Lakers responded with authority. Muse connected on a field goal to regain the lead, then Sean Malveda #18 contributed with back-to-back buckets to help extend the advantage.
