Dominant Defense and Sharp Shooting Lead Saturday SCS Lakers U14s Past Hornets at Court 2, 1pm, 21 February 2026

The Saturday SCS Lakers U14s delivered an outstanding performance, dominating the SCS Hornets 43-19 to improve their record to 6-3. This commanding victory showcased the team's balanced offensive attack and strong defensive effort throughout both halves of play.

 

The Lakers took control early in the first half, with Muse #31 initiating the scoring at the free throw line. After the Hornets briefly took a 2-1 lead, the Lakers responded with authority. Muse connected on a field goal to regain the lead, then Sean Malveda #18 contributed with back-to-back buckets to help extend the advantage. The Lakers built momentum steadily throughout the opening period, with Kyle #44 and Muse adding crucial baskets to close out the half with a commanding 13-4 lead.

 

The second half belonged entirely to the Lakers, who exploded for 30 points while holding the Hornets to just 15. Muse #31 was absolutely stellar, leading all scorers with 14 points on efficient 5-of-11 shooting, including two clutch three-pointers that helped blow the game wide open. Jack Evans #2 provided excellent support with 12 points, showcasing his shooting range by connecting on 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. The Lakers' balanced attack was further highlighted by solid contributions from Kenjie #90, who knocked down a late three-pointer to finish with 5 points, while both Sean Malveda and Kyle added 4 points each with a 2-of-3 field goal shooting.

 

This impressive team victory demonstrated the Lakers' depth and versatility, with multiple players stepping up to contribute on both ends of the floor. The 24-point margin of victory reflects their commitment to playing together and executing their game plan to perfection.
