Saturday SCS Lakers U14s Dominate Hornets in Spectacular 23-10 Season-Opening Victory (08 November 2025)

The Saturday SCS Lakers U14s opened their 2025 summer season in spectacular fashion, dominating the SCS Hornets 23-10 in an impressive away victory to start their record at 1-0.  The Lakers controlled the game from the opening tip, never trailing and building commanding leads throughout both halves in what was truly a team effort on both ends of the court.

The Lakers exploded out of the gates with a blistering 10-0 run to start the game, led by Jack Evans #2 who scored 6 points during the opening surge, including back-to-back field goals that set the tone early.  Ralph Wendell Basilan #3 and Muse #31 also contributed to the team's early success by making timely baskets. Even after the Hornets finally got on the scoreboard, the Lakers maintained their momentum with excellent contributions from their bench players, as Josh #20 and Kenjie #90 each knocked down perfect field goals when their numbers were called, while Blake Prunster #11 added a free throw to extend the halftime lead to 15-6.

The second half belonged to Jack Evans, who showcased his complete offensive skill set by draining a three-pointer to open the period and finishing the game with an outstanding stat line of 11 points on efficient 5-9 shooting, including a perfect 1-1 from beyond the arc.  Rajiv Buquio #17 provided solid support with a clutch two-pointer, going 1-1 from the field, while Prunster added another free throw to his total.  The Lakers' balanced attack was evident as five different players reached the scoring column, demonstrating the depth and unselfish play that made this dominant victory possible and sets a promising tone for the season ahead.
